Niacinamide

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) offers multiple skin benefits. It strengthens the skin barrier, boosts hydration, reduces inflammation, and controls oil production .Additionally, it brightens the complexion by inhibiting melanin transfer, reducing dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Its antioxidant properties protect the skin from environmental damage, such as pollution and UV rays, while also minimizing fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen production. Suitable for all skin types, it promotes a clearer, more even-toned, and youthful complexion.

Tranexamic Acid

Tranexamic acid (TXA) is a powerful ingredient that helps fade stubborn dark spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Originally used to reduce excessive bleeding, it works in skincare by blocking the enzymes that trigger excess melanin production, leading to a more even complexion. Studies show that topical TXA (2-5%) can significantly improve pigmentation in 8-12 weeks when used daily, making it a gentler alternative to hydroquinone. It also has anti-inflammatory benefits, reducing redness in conditions like rosacea and acne.

For best results, apply a TXA serum or cream in your nighttime routine, followed by broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) during the day to prevent further darkening. It pairs well with niacinamide, vitamin C, and kojic acid for enhanced brightening. While generally safe for most skin types, those with a history of blood clots should avoid oral TXA, which is sometimes prescribed for severe melasma. If you struggle with persistent pigmentation, consult a dermatologist for personalized treatment options, including professional peels or laser therapy combined with TXA for optimal results.

Calendula Flower Extract

Calendula flower extract, derived from the vibrant marigold-like blooms of Calendula officinalis, is a powerhouse of skin-loving benefits. Renowned for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing properties, this golden extract is ideal for soothing irritated, dry, or sensitive skin. Rich in flavonoids, carotenoids, and essential oils, it helps calm redness, reduce acne flare-ups, and promote faster skin repair. Its natural antioxidants protect against environmental damage while boosting hydration for a soft, supple complexion. Calendula’s natural skin-renewing properties help gently fade dark spots and improve uneven skin tone. Its anti-inflammatory effects reduce excess melanin production, while its soothing action prevents further pigmentation triggered by irritation. Regular use can promote a more radiant, balanced complexion without harsh side effects. Perfect for serums, creams, and toners, Calendula Flower Extract is a gentle yet powerful ally for healthy, glowing skin.

Usage

Right after face cleansing and toning, use an adequate amount of moisturizer on face and neck with gentle dabbing motion.

  1. Oily/Acne-Prone Skin – Use once daily (PM) initially, then increase to AM & PM if tolerated. Avoid heavy creams to prevent clogging pores.
  2. Dry/Sensitive Skin – Use every other night at first, then gradually increase
  3. Combination Skin – Apply PM only, focusing on pigmented areas.
  4. Mature Skin – Can use AM & PM for faster results, but always follow with sunscreen in the morning.

Patch Test

Before use a patch test is highly recommended.

Apply a small amount of the face wash to a discreet area, such as:

  • Behind the ear
  • Inner forearm
  • Side of the neck (near the jawline)
  • Avoid testing on active acne or broken skin.

Wait at least 24–48 hours to check for any delayed reactions.

FAQ

  1. Can I use it with other skincare products?

Ans: Yes, but avoid mixing with strong acids (AHA/BHA) or retinoids unless advised. Best paired with a gentle cleanser, sunscreen, and antioxidant serums (Vitamin C).

  1. Should I use sunscreen with this moisturizer?

Ans: YES! Sun exposure triggers melasma. Always apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ in the morning, even indoors.

  1. Can pregnant and lactating mothers use this Moisturizer?

Ans: While tranexamic acid (TXA) is an effective topical treatment for melasma due to its ability to inhibit pigmentation, its use during pregnancy and breastfeeding requires careful consideration. Although topical TXA has minimal systemic absorption compared to oral forms—making it potentially lower risk—there is limited clinical data confirming its complete safety for expecting or nursing mothers. Dermatologists often recommend erring on the side of caution, as hormonal changes during pregnancy can make skin more sensitive. For melasma management during this period, alternatives like azelaic acid, vitamin C, or niacinamide may be preferable, as they have well-established safety profiles. If considering a TXA-based face gel, consult your doctor first, opt for lower concentrations (2-5%), and discontinue use if any irritation occurs. Always prioritize gentle, pregnancy-safe skincare and sun protection to prevent further pigmentation.
